Estate Planning

At The Liles Firm, we understand our client’s desire to provide a secure future for their spouse, family and other loved ones in a thoughtful and efficient manner. We assist in the creation of Wills, Trusts, Healthcare Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Durable Powers of Attorney which provide protection and planning to address your physical and financial needs during periods of disability and provide for the handling of your estate after you pass.

If you own property, have children, have been recently married or divorced, you should create or update your Will. If you are married, divorced or single, you should take control of your financial and health matters by creating a Durable Power of Attorney, Health Care Power of Attorney and Living Will to govern your affairs during periods of disability. If you are new to Florida, or if your current estate planning documents are more than three years old, you should review your documents to ensure they reflect your current circumstances and wishes. Estate Planning permits you to control life decisions and your assets during periods of disability and control the disposition of assets after you pass. At The Liles Firm, we are prepared to assist you with your planning needs.  We can assist you in reviewing your estate planning needs and in the creation of appropriate documentation which could include the following:

  • Last Will and Testament– A legal document that communicates a person’s final wishes regarding their possessions and dependents upon their passing.
  • Trust– A document that creates a fiduciary arrangement that allows a third party, or trustee, to hold assets on behalf of a beneficiary or beneficiaries.
  • Durable Power of Attorney– A document that allows you to name a trusted individual to make financial and business decisions for you if you are unable to make them for yourself.
  • Health Care Power of Attorney– A document that allows you to name a trusted individual to make medical decisions for you in the event you are unable to express your preferences regarding health related matters and to assist you with medical decisions as requested.
  • Living Will– A document that allows you to state what type of medical treatment you do or do not wish to receive if faced with imminent death or the possibility of a persistent vegetative state.
